Why Society Needs Less-Lethal Weapons

A lethal weapon is sometimes the only choice a police officer has to defend his or herself. This is especially true when criminals have obtained and are using firearms. For this reason, PhaZZer Electronics have created multiple less-lethal weapons. In an attempt to save as much human life as possible, they hope that their alternative methods might be able to open a new option for an officer whose life is threatened. Instead of taking a life, the officer will have the chance to injure and temporarily incapacitate a criminal. Here are a few lesser-known benefits to using less-lethal weapons:

1.       Versatility in ammo. Although this is only true for PhaZZer products, it will likely become common across the board for all less-lethal weaponry. PhaZZer allows its clients to use not only ammo from different (even competing) companies, it also enables multiple kinds of ammunition. You can use rubber bullets, to pepper spray balls, to non-lethal electrical probes.

2.       Versatility in style. PhaZZer allows purchasers to select the color they desire and also offers different types of holsters.

3.       Effectiveness. The effectiveness of a less-lethal weapon when used correctly is extremely high. However, certain weapons such as Tasers are much less effective if the target is wearing thick clothing. This actually harkens back to the first point and strengthens PhaZZer’s case for versatility in ammunition. In a situation where electrical probes might be less effective, one could change to pepper spray balls and experience extreme effectiveness.

Steven Abboud has worked at PhaZZer since 2007 on creating less-lethal weapons and ammunition options and has used innovative designs to enhance current models. The non-lethal field still has a long way to go, and he plans to be at the forefront every step of the way.
